Eddie Barella

on-air | voice over | production

Eddie’s unhealthy obsession with radio was diagnosed while listening to his favorite local rock station in middle school. So enthralled by radio, he soon found himself using a dial-up connection to broadcast his own internet radio station to a vast audience of zero—with hopes of someday being on his local radio dial.

After to various internships in the radio industry, Eddie was hired at iHeartMedia before escaping college with a film degree. He held positions as both Imaging Director and DJ at the station he grew up listening to, KBPI-Denver. While Rocking the Rockies, he also began contributing to Premiere Radio Network's Brown Bag imaging libraries, as well as produce imaging for KEGL-Dallas. Working for beloved Denver stations he grew up listening to, prepped him for his next big move in media, network radio.

After his stint at iHeartMedia, Eddie joined WestwoodOne as the midday jock on the newly launched Rock 2.0 format (alternative/active rock), heard on hundreds of radio stations across the United States. The affiliates grew and so did Eddie's passion for radio.

However, on his way to becoming a national radio personality, and while still in high school, Eddie started an online radio show that regularly got him in trouble: Eddie Jason & Chris. An online radio show and podcast he still does to this day, and was recently named by Denver's influential alt weekly, Westword, as the Best Denver-Based National Podcast of 2014

His work in online radio never stopped, in fact it has been full steam ahead. Throughout the years he developed his programming skills with idobi Radio, the most listened to alternative radio stream in the world, according to Triton Digital. This single stream lives in the ranks with big companies like Cumulus, CBS Radio, and iHeartMedia.

idobi Radio features shows hosted by rock stars and partnerships with big brands like Vans Warped Tour and Alternative Press. Eddie led the idobi Radio team to the RAIN Best Single-Stream Webcaster award in 2014

With all these accomplishments packed into his career before the age of 30, who’s to tell what he’ll achieve next. He still has many goals to achieve in his career. Maybe he’ll finally use that film degree, or maybe it’ll be snowboarding—an ability he’s yet to learn despite his entire life being spent in Colorado.
